Terms and conditions
Version of 14 October 2026
These terms and conditions apply to every use of SiteLift and to every website subscription you take out with us. You accept them expressly when you order.
1. Who we are
SiteLift is the trading name of AppBuilders BV, Boskant 22, 9700 Oudenaarde, Belgium, company number BE 0719.548.572. You can reach us at hello@sitelift.be.
2. For businesses only
SiteLift sells exclusively to businesses, self-employed professionals, associations and other organisations, for use in their trade or profession. When you order, you confirm that you order in that capacity. We do not enter into contracts with consumers; the rules on distance selling to consumers, such as the right of withdrawal, therefore do not apply.
3. What SiteLift provides
SiteLift renews your existing website with AI-assisted analysis, design and copywriting, and then hosts it. What each plan includes is stated on the pricing page at the time of your order. Support is by email on working days; with Groot, your questions are handled with priority. Groot’s monthly optimisation check is an analysis of your live website with a list of suggestions; you choose which ones to carry out, and carrying them out uses AI credits. Groot also includes one module of your choice costing up to €7.50 a month (excl. VAT) at no extra charge; a second module is charged at the normal price.
A free preview or proposal is without obligation. Your existing website is not changed without your explicit approval.
4. Ordering, trial and renewal
The agreement is formed when, at checkout, you choose a plan, confirm that you order as a business, accept these terms and start the first payment or free trial. We record which version of the terms you accepted and when. You can always view, save and print these terms at sitelift.be/terms.html.
Your subscription runs monthly or yearly, as you choose, and renews automatically for the same period until you cancel. Payment for each new period is collected automatically through Mollie at the start of that period. A free trial turns into a paid subscription automatically when it ends; we send you a reminder seven days before, and you can cancel free of charge until the trial ends.
5. Prices and payment
Prices exclude VAT. VAT, any discounts and the total are shown at checkout before you pay. A discount or promotion applies only under the conditions stated with it.
If the payment for a new period fails, the subscription ends. Your website stays online, but shows the SiteLift banner again, is no longer indexed by search engines, and modules such as reservations stop. To continue, contact us at hello@sitelift.be.
6. Changing plans
There are three plans, by the size of your website: Klein up to 5 pages, Standaard up to 15 pages and Groot from 16 pages. We count the pages in your website’s main language; translations and the error page do not count. When you order, you choose the plan that fits your website, or a larger one. You can switch to another plan in your account at any time, as long as it fits the number of pages of your website. The new plan and its AI credits apply immediately; the new price applies from the next renewal, without pro-rata adjustment. If your website grows past the limit of your plan, we let you know by email. The plan that fits then applies from the first renewal at least thirty days after that message; until then nothing changes. If you do not agree, you can cancel free of charge as of that renewal. Switching from monthly to yearly payment, or the other way round, is possible on request at hello@sitelift.be.
7. AI credits
Each plan gives you a number of AI credits per month for the AI editor; the number is stated on the pricing page. Even with yearly payment they are topped up monthly, on the day your subscription started. An edit uses credits according to the computing power it needs, with a minimum of 10 credits. Unused credits expire at the end of each month and are not refunded. Extra credits cannot be bought separately; you get more by moving to a larger plan.
An edit that fails technically or is stopped by our checks costs no credits. If credits were nevertheless charged for an edit that did not succeed, we restore them on request. Once your credits run out, you can edit again after the next top-up or after moving to a larger plan.
8. Your responsibilities and your materials
You make sure that the information, text, images, trademarks, domain names and other materials you supply or have us take over are accurate and that you are allowed to use them. You do not use SiteLift for unlawful, misleading, harmful or infringing content. You remain responsible for the final review of your website, including prices, opening hours, legal notices, professional rules, medical or legal claims and other sector-specific information.
You allow us to copy, edit, translate, optimise and host the materials you supply, or that we take over from your existing website with your consent, as far as needed to provide the service. This permission ends with the agreement, except for the export period in article 13 and for what the law requires us to keep.
9. AI, previews and approval
SiteLift uses AI to analyse, design, write and change websites. AI output can contain errors, outdated information or inaccuracies. That is why every change you request through the AI editor goes to a preview first; it only goes live after you approve it. Only technical work as described in article 10 is carried out without prior approval.
By approving, you confirm that you have reviewed the content sufficiently. Your approval concerns the content: we remain responsible for technical errors in publishing or hosting.
10. Hosting, domains and technical work
SiteLift hosts your website and connects your domain name with your permission. You remain the owner or registrant of your domain name unless agreed otherwise in writing. For everything to work, you may need to change DNS settings or give us access to do so.
We may carry out technical work needed for security, performance, maintenance, legal obligations or the operation of the service. It does not materially change your text or design.
11. Availability, versions and speed
We make reasonable efforts to keep SiteLift and hosted websites available, secure and fast. Temporary interruptions can occur due to maintenance, supplier outages, network problems, force majeure or necessary security measures. We keep every published version of your website for as long as the agreement runs, and restore a previous version on request.
At delivery, your website scores at least 90 on mobile for performance, SEO and accessibility in Google Lighthouse, measured with PageSpeed Insights (median of three runs). If the delivered website falls short, we improve it free of charge until it meets that score. This does not apply to what you add or have added later, such as heavy images, videos or third-party services, nor to fluctuations in the measuring tool itself.
12. Cancellation and termination
You can cancel at any time with the button in your account; you receive a confirmation by email. Your website stays online until the end of the paid period. Periods already paid are not refunded pro rata, except in the cases of article 18.
We can end the agreement with three months’ notice; we then refund the unused part of a period already paid. In case of a serious or repeated breach of article 8, such as unlawful content or misuse of the service, we can block your website immediately or end the agreement. Where reasonable, we first give you eight days to put it right.
13. Taking your website with you
If the agreement ends after you have paid SiteLift for at least twelve months, you may keep using, changing and hosting elsewhere the website SiteLift built for you (the pages, layout, text and images as they are online at that time), for your own organisation. If it ends earlier, the design and build of the website remain SiteLift’s; you can then obtain that right by paying the price of the remaining months up to twelve in one go. If you ask within three months of the end, we send you a zip file with those files within thirty days of obtaining that right.
What runs on our services does not work elsewhere: the contact form, visitor statistics, the AI editor and modules such as reservations. Images or fonts under third-party licences may only be used within those licences. After those three months we may delete your website and its files.
14. Intellectual property
Your business information, text, images, logos and trademarks remain yours or their owners’. SiteLift retains the rights to its software, the AI editor, templates, modules, processes and technical infrastructure. You may not copy, reverse-engineer or resell SiteLift, or use it to build a competing service. While your subscription runs, you may use the website for your own organisation; what applies afterwards is governed by article 13.
15. Third-party services
SiteLift works with third parties for hosting, payments, email, maps, AI processing and other technical functions. Additional terms or availability limits may apply to such services.
16. Personal data and data processing agreement
We are the controller of the data we process about you as a customer; see our privacy policy. For personal data that comes in through your website, such as contact form messages, you are the controller and SiteLift acts as processor. This article is the data processing agreement within the meaning of Article 28 GDPR.
We process that data only to provide the service and according to your instructions, as set out in this agreement and in your account. Anyone with access at our end is bound to confidentiality. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections and restricted access.
We use these sub-processors: Microsoft Azure (storage and servers, West Europe), Vercel (delivery of the websites), Zoho’s ZeptoMail (email) and, for the AI features, Anthropic and OpenAI. Some of them are established outside the European Economic Area; a transfer to them takes place with the safeguards the GDPR requires. We tell you about a new sub-processor in advance; if you do not agree, you can cancel free of charge.
We help you, as far as reasonable, with requests from data subjects and with your obligations on security and data breaches. We report a data breach affecting your data without undue delay and at the latest within 48 hours of discovering it. After the agreement ends, we delete that data after the export period in article 13, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. On request, we demonstrate that we comply with this article.
17. Liability
Our total liability per calendar year is limited to the price of twelve months of your plan, whether you pay monthly or yearly. We are not liable for indirect damage, such as loss of profit, loss of revenue or reputational damage, nor for damage caused by content you supplied or approved. The latter exclusion does not apply to our own errors in publishing or hosting.
These limitations do not apply in case of intent, fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or where mandatory law imposes wider liability.
18. Changes to the service, prices and terms
We may change these terms, our prices or the content of a plan when the law, our costs, our suppliers or the service itself change. We notify you of a change to your disadvantage by email at least thirty days in advance. If you do not agree, you can cancel free of charge as of the date it takes effect; if you paid yearly, you then get the unused part back.
A price increase applies to your subscription only from the first renewal after those thirty days; a period already paid continues at the old price. Changes that are only to your advantage or that the law requires may take effect immediately.
19. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes are submitted to the competent courts of the district where AppBuilders BV has its registered office, unless mandatory law designates another court.
